Hair Restoration Procedures Appear to Be Gaining Popularity Among Younger Men

More and more younger men seem to be inquiring about
solutions for hair loss -- an indication that they're more
aggressive about addressing the issue now, rather than wait,
according to a highly respected doctor in the field of hair
transplants. The popular online physician referral service
LocateADoc.com recently interviewed Dr. Michael Zufelt, who
practices at the Hair Restoration Center of Utah. The hair
restoration specialist says an increasing number of his patients
are younger men. "I'm not sure there is a trend of younger people
losing hair, but certainly younger males are seeking preventative
and proactive approaches to hair loss than we have seen in years
past," Zufelt tells LocateADoc.com. According to the American Hair
Loss Association, the number of younger hair loss patients is
rising. By the age of 35, two-thirds of American men will
experience some degree of appreciable hair loss, studies indicate.
According to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery,
of those undergoing the procedure in recent years, over half of
male patients were between the ages of 30 to 49. "Our typical
patient is still a middle-aged male in his late 30's to 50's who
still acts and feels young but whose hair loss gives him an aging
appearance. He would like to maintain his youthful look," Zufelt
says.
